About Us

Last updated:

Nest Made is a small online shop for personalized baby and nursery gifts: name signs for the wall above the crib, soft blankets with a little one’s name, birth announcement keepsakes that hold the numbers from the day they arrived, milestone pieces for the first year and a few calm touches of nursery decor. We are based in Los Angeles, California, we ship from the USA, and we deliver free to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This page tells you what we make, how we work, what we promise and, just as importantly, what we will never pretend to be.

What “Nest Made” means to us

Before a baby comes home, families nest. They paint a wall, build a crib that comes with too many screws, fold tiny clothes into drawers and stand in the doorway wondering what is missing. Often it is the name: the moment a nursery stops being “the spare room” and becomes Juniper’s room or Theo’s room. Our name is about that moment. A nest made ready, made personal, made calm. It is not a claim about where or how anything is produced; it is a description of what we hope our pieces help you do.

What we make

We keep our range deliberately focused on pieces that families actually keep and use:

New pieces are added to the shop over time. If a category looks quiet when you visit, please check back soon.

How personalization works here

We wanted personalization to be simple enough to do one-handed at two in the morning. There is no designer tool to learn and nothing to upload at checkout. You choose your piece and its options on the product page, and at checkout you type the name, dates, birth details or photo notes into the Order notes box. We prepare your piece exactly from those notes.

We do not send a proof or a mockup before preparing your order. That keeps things quick, but it means your notes matter: please write names exactly as they should appear, with capitals, spaces and accents, and read your confirmation email carefully. If you spot a mistake, tell us within 24 hours of ordering and we will correct it before your piece is prepared. Our Cancel or Change an Order page explains how.

Our promises, in plain numbers

We would rather tell you exact numbers than vague reassurances. These are the commitments we make on every order, and they are the same on every page of our site:

  • your order is prepared in 1-3 business days and ships from the USA;
  • delivery takes 7-14 business days to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and shipping is always free, with no minimum;
  • you can cancel or change your order within 24 hours of placing it;
  • you can return any item, including personalized ones, within 60 days of delivery, and we send a free return label even if you simply changed your mind;
  • your refund is issued within 7 days of your return reaching us, or you can choose store credit, which never expires;
  • we reply to every email within 24 hours on business days.

The details are on our Shipping & Delivery, Returns & Exchanges and Refund Policy pages.

Safety comes before style

Nursery pieces live around the most precious people in your life, so we talk about safety plainly, even when it is less pretty than a product photo:

  • wall signs and letters are decor for adults to hang securely, out of reach and never inside or directly over a crib where they could fall;
  • following widely shared safe-sleep guidance, blankets are for supervised, awake time and decoration, not for a sleeping baby’s crib;
  • keepsakes are not toys, and small pieces belong out of reach of babies and toddlers;
  • in our photos we avoid showing anything we would not recommend at home, such as loose blankets over a sleeping baby.

What we will never do

A trustworthy shop is defined as much by what it refuses to do as by what it sells. At Nest Made:

  • we do not show reviews, ratings or “happy customer” counters that we cannot back up; when reviews arrive, they will come from verified buyers only;
  • we do not create pressure with countdown timers, “only a few left” messages or invented sales;
  • we do not show payment logos for payment methods that are not available at checkout;
  • we do not use photos from other shops or marketplaces, or designs that copy other makers’ work;
  • we do not publish or reuse your baby’s name, birth details or photos, and customer photos are deleted 30 days after delivery;
  • we do not claim to be bigger than we are: there is no call centre, no chain of stores and no team page full of stock photos. We are a small shop that answers by email.

Who we make things for

Most of our customers fall into a few groups, and we try to make each of their lives a little easier:

Expecting parents

You are nesting, comparing paint colours and reading safe-sleep advice at midnight. You want the nursery to feel calm and ready. Our Size Guide helps you choose a sign that fits the wall, and our category guides explain what to consider for each kind of piece.

Grandparents, aunties and friends

You want a shower gift that will still be used next year. You may be shipping to another country or ordering before the name is public. Our shipping is free to four countries, gifts can go straight to the parents’ address, and our FAQs cover questions like “what if the name is still a secret?”.

New parents in the first year

You are counting months, taking milestone photos and filling a memory box. Birth keepsakes and milestone pieces are made for you, and our notes explain exactly which details to send.

How we think about design

A nursery is a room for resting, so our designs lean calm rather than loud. A few principles guide every piece we add to the shop:

  • Names first. The name is the star. Lettering has to be readable from the doorway, not just pretty up close, and long names are given room so they never feel squeezed.
  • Soft, repeatable colours. Powder blue, butter yellow, sage, oat, blush and natural wood tones sit together easily, so a sign, a blanket and a keepsake bought months apart still look like they belong in the same room.
  • Room to grow. We prefer designs that suit a toddler’s room as much as a newborn’s, so a piece is not outgrown in a year.
  • Honest pictures. Our images show what the piece is. Example names in photos are invented, and the layout adapts to the name you choose.

From your order notes to your door

Here is what happens after you press the order button, so you always know where things stand:

  1. Confirmation. You receive an email with your order number and a copy of your order notes. Read it while the details are fresh; you have 24 hours to ask for changes.
  2. Preparation. Within 1-3 business days, your piece is prepared using exactly the names and details in your notes, then packed for the journey.
  3. Shipping. Your parcel ships from the USA and a tracking email follows. Delivery to the United States, Canada, Australia or New Zealand usually takes 7-14 business days, with free shipping.
  4. Arrival. Unpack it, compare it with your notes and, if anything is wrong or simply not right for your room, email us. You have 60 days and a free return label.

You can check where an order is at any time on our Order Tracking page.

When something goes wrong

Parcels get delayed, signs occasionally take a knock in transit, and sometimes a name is typed with a slip of the thumb. When that happens, we want the fix to feel as gentle as the rest of the experience. Send us a short email with your order number and, where it helps, a photo. We reply within 24 hours on business days, look at what happened and agree a solution with you, whether that is a replacement, a return with a free label, a refund within 7 days of receiving the return, or store credit that never expires. You will never be passed between departments, because there are no departments: you talk to the shop.

Gifts that cross borders

Babies have grandparents in other countries more often than not. Because we deliver free to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, a gift ordered by an aunt in Sydney can go straight to new parents in Vancouver, and a blanket ordered in Texas can reach a grandchild in Wellington. Prices are in US dollars, and for deliveries outside the United States, any import charges depend on the destination country’s rules. Our Shipping & Delivery page explains timing so the gift arrives when you hope it will.

Caring for your pieces

Every product page includes the size, materials and care notes for that piece, and we suggest keeping your order email so they are easy to find later. As a general habit, dust signs and letters with a dry, soft cloth rather than spraying cleaner on them, keep wooden pieces out of strong direct sun if you want their colour to stay even, and wash blankets following the care label, ideally before first use. If a care question is not answered on the product page, email us and we will explain.

How to reach us

We are an email-only shop. That is a deliberate choice: written answers are easier to check, easier to share with a partner and kinder to sleep-deprived parents than phone queues. Every email gets a reply from us within 24 hours on business days.

  • Email: support@nestmade.shop
  • Tickets: our Submit a Ticket page has ready-made email subjects for orders, returns and questions.
  • Business address: Nest Made, 5166 Onacrest Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90043, US. This is our business address for correspondence; it is not a showroom, and returns are sent using the label we email you.

Where to start
